Day Ten: One person you can trust.

1. My mom, definatly. There are loads of people who I've tried to trust and many who have betrayed that trust but my mom has always been there, willing to help. Of course there are some subjects on which we don't agree but that's what family is for right?

Reversed Roles

I can still remember the time when I was in the 6th grade and was invited to a class-party. As most girls of that age I thought it would be suitable to go all out with the make-up I could find to create a stunning look. When I look back at some pictures of that time I'm really thankful that my mom forced me to remove at least half the amount of make-up since it was way to much. That was the time that my mom gave me advise on what make-up I should use, what clothes I should wear and especially which I shouldn't. I must say that even now I tend to combine colors which don't go together since I feel they do. Now, however, the tables have turned. At this very moment my parents are at a themed party at my dads work. The theme is the 60s and 70s so they chose to go dressed like hippies. It was very easy for my dad who just put on an afro wig, huge sunglasses, a purple shirt and let my mom widen the bottom of his jeans. My mom on the other hand was a different story. She did have suitable clothes in her closet, no problem there. The problem was, off course, the make up. I had to tell her which was the best way to apply her mascara, which brushes to use for her eyeshadow, wipe of half of the eyeshadow after finding out she'd chosen a shocking blue and stop her from using her old dark red lipstick. Apparently this overkill type of make-up was fashion at the time but it doesn't come to my mind when I think of the 60s. After letting me choose her bag, earrings and headband they were ready to go. It broke my heart to see them walk away all grown up.

Day Seven: Four memories you won’t forget.

1. From most of my friends I have a first memory in which I realised that someday we would be friends even though there was a while before it actually happened. These are memories that I probably wont foget.
2. The day I heard my dad had a dangerous form of cancer (he recovered but it was quite a shock)
3. When I was in a theme park and thought the toilet was locked creating a huge que to find out that it was just a very heavy door.
4. The year I lived in England

Birthday Panic!

Ok, so here is the problem. Without me knowing 4 birthdays have crept up on me and I have no idea how to buy all of them presents! Well, I do have some idea. The first birthday is my older brother's birthday. He turned 20 last tuesday and we will be celebrating coming saturday since he lives in his apartment in an other city. Most of you probably agree that 20 is a special age right? There's a huge difference between 19 and 20 - the first digit. That sounds quite adult don't you think? When I was stressing out on what to buy him I remembered that a couple of months ago (well, more than a couple of months since it was summer) I stumbeld upon a book called 'How to be a man' by John Birmingham and Dirk Flinthart. I thought it sounded really funny but at the time I didn't know anyone I could give the book to knowing that they'd appreciate the humor of it. I've looked it up on google and this is a short list of what can be found in the contents of this book:
* how to tie a bow tie,
* how to land a jumbo,
* how to cook to impress the ladies
* cars to avoid on the freeway,
* superstars of philosophy
* how to cheat at cards
* what should be in your toolbox
* what cleaning you have to do around the house and what you don't
* how to ask for a raise
* how to apologize to a woman when you haven't done anything wrong
* how to grovel and beg for mercy so you don't get in trouble
* how to cook a gormet meal using canned peas, Morningstar bacon strips, and a bottle of ketchup
* how to go on a inexpensive date and get a return on your investment
* how to make your cheap car look more impressive with a paint roller and a can of latex wall paint
* how to apply makeup to accent your manly features
* how to cry, so you can make a woman think you are emotional and caring
* how to choose the right socks for any occasion

Well, you get the idea right? My problem is however that I still need to buy this book and I'm not sure if I'll be able to find it. It's too late to buy it online. If I won't be able to find it I'll have a huge problem.

The second birthday was yesterday. In this case I'm not only having a hard time in thinking of a suitable present but I'm not even sure if there'll be a birthday party! It's one of my best friends from my previous school (I switched highschool halfway through) who turned 18. Like most of my friends he has an unusual personality and it's really hard to think of something he'd appreciate.

The third birthday is the birthday of another friend turning 18 coming tuesday. I've been invited over for dinner on the sunday which is when she's celebrating with her family so I'll have to have a present by then. I've once heard her say that she really likes solving sudoku's but thinks the plain ones are boring. I however remembered that there's a dutch magazine which comes out every month that has a number of complex sudoku's so I'll be giving her one of those but I don't think thats enough so I'll have to think of something extra.

The last birthday is my younger brothers birthday on the 3rd of februari. He'll turn 13 and I have no idea what to buy him. All he wants are video games and expensive stuff and no way I'm gonna give him that crap. Well... I like video games but I want to be a bit more creative you know? So that is a really hard one, what should I buy to drag him away from that console? I have a lot to think about. Wish me luck!

The future

That I try to live my life day by day doesn't mean I don't think about the future, especially now that I have to choose what I want to do after leaving high school. I do know for sure that I want to go to a university but so far that's all I'm sure of. I have many intrests but there aren't any bachelors that I find really appealing. Sure, some are more attractive than others but I haven't found one with which I feel a genuin connection and contains things that really interst me. From time to time I feel that I have finally figured it all out but then after a while I realise that things aren't what I thought they where.
The problem is that time is running and I've still not progressed from where I was at the beginning of the schoolyear. It just feels weird to make a desicion that will have so much influence on my future. How do I know which is the right one? I don't want to disappoint myself or others by dropping out halfway but I can't postpone it for a year. Lets hope that it won't take to long before I figure it all out.

Day Two: Nine things you do everyday.

Hmmm, this is a hard one... there are very few things that I don't skip once in a while... Well, here goes nothing:
1. Breath
2. Sleep
3. Look at things
4. Drink
5. Eat
6. Think (yeah, really surprising, I know)
7. Sing
8. Put my hair in a ponytail/braid
9. Touch my mouth (dunno why, a weird habit)

1. I want to become a science journalist at the moment.
2. I have more books than I can store.
3. I hear music in my head most of the time of which I keep track on a seperate blog.
4. I tend to think about things for a very long time knowing that I won't come to a conclusion.
5. I fandub Japanese pop music in my spare time.
6. It takes a very long time before I can really trust someone.

9. I live my life day by day.
10. I really love to read japanese manga.

So, like I told earlier these kinds of blog challanges are really popular right now but I can't do most of them since I don't drink. This one is within my reach and it might be a great way to get to know me a bit better so let's give it a shot!

Hey guys!

Welcome in my blog!
More than I year ago I made this account for a school assignment. It was a really boring assignment so I deleted everything I did then but I decided to revive this blog and make it into my personal thing. Blogs have become increasingly popular at my school lately and there are quite a few challanges going around so I'm certainly going to try some and maybe I shall post some interesting things later on, who knows? Be sure to check out my music blog!
